What 25% Concentration Means
What's in the bottle. And what 25% actually means.
Every perfume bottle carries a label. Eau de Toilette. Eau de Parfum. Extrait.
The labels look standardized. They are not.
One brand's Eau de Parfum can be the same strength as another brand's Eau de Toilette. The labels describe a range. What goes into the bottle is decided by the brand.
Here is what those labels mean. And here is the choice we made.
How fragrance is built
Perfume and Percentage of Oils
A perfume is two things. A blend of fragrance oils, and a carrier that holds them. The oils are the scent. The carrier moves them onto the skin and lets them open up. Concentration is the percentage of the bottle that is fragrance oil. The rest is the carrier that moves the scent onto the skin.
The Three you'll see
Fragrance labels
EAU DE TOILETTE
Roughly 5% to 15% concentration. The lightest concentration in common use. Designed to open bright and fade quickly. Two to four hours on skin, often less.
EAU DE PARFUM
Roughly 15% to 20% concentration. The standard for most modern perfume brands. Fuller, longer wearing, more complete in its progression from top to base. Four to eight hours on skin, depending on formula and skin type.
EXTRAIT DE PARFUM
Roughly 20% to 40% concentration. The densest commonly available form. Sometimes called Parfum, Pure Parfum, or simply Perfume. Eight hours and beyond, often closer to the skin than projecting.

Eau de Parfum is the most familiar concentration to the modern wearer, and the one most often built for full-day use. We chose to honor that category and push it. To make the strongest version we knew how to make, in a workshop in Europe, with the best raw materials we could source.
25% is where each scent reads finished. Below it, the dry down loses depth. Above it, the projection turns dense in a way that no longer feels considered.
